Amoah was part of the squad for the 2006 World Cup which was the nation's first ever appearance at the Final's of the tournament and they put on a great show with the youngest squad of the 32 teams. This red design was not used in Germany and was actually only worn once by the senior team in less happy times as they were stunned 5-0 by Saudi Arabia in Riyadh in 2007. Amoah was the #14 at the World Cup and was assigned this number for most matches around this time. The striker played notably at club level for Vitesse, Dortmund and NAC while representing his country 43 times with a fine return of 13 goals
